A Tale of Two Cities: Portland and Denver

Timbers and Rapids ministries very different when it comes to method, but still share the same end goal

Last Thursday's national TV broadcast of the Portland Timbers first home game showed America one of the most energetic and passionate fan bases. The expansion side, who are in their first season of Major League Soccer play, had their stadium rocking with the cheers and chant of fans and the team chaplain, Ben Dudley, right in the middle of it. Read about some of the unique differences between the two MLS teams that CrossTraining is ministering to. Click here to read more of the story.

CrossTraining and Men of Adventure

CrossTraining Director and Rapids Lead Chaplain Brad Kenney spoke at Cherry Hills Community Church's Men of Adventure morning bible study last Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Weaving the story of CrossTraining and the biblical text of John 6, the men were encouraged and challenged. Click here to read more or hear the audio from the morning.

Timothy Project Possibilities

CrossTraining is still accepting applications for the 2011 Timothy Project. Applicants should fill out the quick online submission and complete the application form which can be downloaded by clicking here.

May Book Drive

For the 2011 season, CrossTraining is planning to use the New York Times Bestselling book Same Kind of Different As Me by author Ron Hall to bring the topic of homelessness to the players, coaches, and staff of its respective teams. Would you consider buying a book for a member of the team?
A gift of $15 or more will help us get this powerful story in the hands of the people we are working with and help us begin an engaging dialogue about homelessness and our response.
You can help us by clicking on the "donate" button to the right and making a donation today. Thanks for your support!
