Introducing Associate Chaplain Jeff Baxter

Local pastor becomes second associate chaplain to join CrossTraining's ministry to the Colorado Rapids

As the ministry of CrossTraining continues to grow and expand, so has the need for another chaplain to help with new opportunities in Colorado. Jeff Baxter serves full-time as a pastor at Foothills Bible Community Church in Littleton and becomes the second associate chaplain, along with Ricardo Orellana, to join the CrossTraining team in Colorado. Baxter will serve to "minister in the margins." Baxter's primary role, initially, will be to help with coverage and ministry to the reserve players and expansion that the league has undergone this season. Read and see more on Jeff's ministry bio and profile here.

Speaking Engagement Tuesday, April 5

CrossTraining Director and Rapids Lead Chaplain Brad Kenney will speak this coming Tuesday morning at Cherry Hills Community Church's Men of Adventure morning bible study on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 7-8 am. Supporters in Colorado are encouraged to attend and hear the CrossTraining story interwoven into the study time. Cherry Hills Community Church is located at 3900 Grace Boulevard, Highlands Ranch, CO  80126.

CrossTraining Connections

CrossTraining's mission and philosophy is to connect players, coaches, and staff into the community organizations and resources. Read more about some of the opportunities that CrossTraining utilizes to enhance its ministry of holistic care to those in professional sport.

Timothy Project Possibilities

CrossTraining is still accepting applications for the 2011 Timothy Project. Applicants should fill out the quick online submission and complete the application form which can be downloaded by clicking here.

May Book Drive

For the 2011 season, CrossTraining is planning to use the New York Times Bestselling book Same Kind of Different As Me by author Ron Hall to bring the topic of homelessness to the players, coaches, and staff of its respective teams. Would you consider buying a book for a member of the team?
A gift of $15 or more will help us get this powerful story in the hands of the people we are working with and help us begin an engaging dialogue about homelessness and our response.
You can help us by clicking on the "donate" button to the right and making a donation today. Thanks for your support!

Website Gets A Mini-Makeover

The CrossTraining website gets a slight makeover from last season. There is no longer individual sites for the Portland and Colorado teams, rather just one main site where supporters can learn about ministries in both cities. Check out the new look here and feel free to explore.
