CrossTraining Gears Up for 2011

Offseason draws to close as players begin to report next weekend to respective teams around the league

As the 2011 Major League Soccer season looks to get underway, CrossTraining is making preparations for its tenth year of ministry. Among some of the highlights to praying about is the addition of the Portland Timbers and Ben Dudley who is working to come alongside of this team and organization recently joining the league, pray for returning players and players new to different teams as they overcome different transitions, and pray for the ministries of team chaplains around the league and beyond.

CrossTraining Extends Sympathy to Okafor's

CrossTraining was saddened to hear of the suicide death of MLS defender Uche Okafor on Thursday, January 6. CrossTraining remains committed to helping and supporting players, staff, and their families with issues of depression and feelings of suicide. Read CrossTraining's article on the subject last year to players and staff and please pray for the Okafor family in this difficult time.

Rapids Home Opener Opportunity for Retreat

The 2010 MLS Cup Champion Colorado Rapids will begin the defense of their title on March 19, 2011 at home against the Timbers and the weekend will serve as an opportunity for CrossTraining to conduct its annual retreat. Portland's Dudley will travel a few days prior to meet with Director Brad Kenney and CrossTraining advisors to strategize the upcoming year of ministry.
